Accessibility statement
This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and to be usable by keyboard, screen reader, voice control and magnification, with or without JavaScript, and with reduced motion.
What has been done
- Semantic HTML with landmarks, a logical heading order and a skip link on every page.
- Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator; focused elements are never hidden behind the sticky bar on small screens.
- Text colours meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against their backgrounds; most exceed 7:1.
- Status (for example “Preprint” or “Prototype”) is always given in text, never by colour alone.
- Form fields have visible labels; errors are described in text, linked from a summary and announced to assistive technology.
- Animations are short and switch off when your system asks for reduced motion. The interactive figure on the homepage works without animation and has a text description.
- Pages respect high-contrast and forced-colours modes, and print legibly.
How it was tested
Representative pages are checked automatically with axe-core in a real browser at mobile and desktop sizes on every release, and manually with keyboard-only navigation. The results of the most recent tests are recorded in the project’s audit report.
Known limitations
- PDFs and other documents published elsewhere (for example on arXiv) are outside this site’s control and may not meet the same standard.
- The name at the top of every page is set as one word in a script face; it is a link home, and screen readers announce it as the full name with spaces.
