Muhammad Shaheer Bin Junaid

Muhammad Shaheer Bin Junaid is a cybersecurity researcher and engineer based in Pakistan. He works on post-quantum cryptography as it is actually deployed, which mostly means asking whether the new algorithms are running where organisations believe they are, how anyone could prove it, and which countries and companies the transition is likely to leave behind.

His research appears as three single-author preprints on arXiv, all from 2026. Kestrel identifies ML-KEM and ML-DSA inside stripped binaries, which matters for migration assurance and for digital forensics. Quantum Cloud Guard is a hybrid post-quantum encryption design that lets small and medium-sized enterprises keep custody of their own keys. The third paper looks at quantum machine learning as a way to protect quantum key distribution links from attacks disguised as ordinary noise.

Each paper ships with open-source code. Two further tools sit beside them: HollowLock, which tests whether a site’s post-quantum TLS is enforced or only offered, and Panopticon, which spots coordinated abuse from behaviour and TLS fingerprints instead of IP addresses.

Outside research he is Chief Technology Officer of Headline Recorder, where he leads engineering and infrastructure, and he advises organisations on security and governance, including their first steps towards post-quantum cryptography. He founded Corven Watches, an independent luxury watch brand, and Pearl Construction Co. He is also writing a book, The Cryptographic Divide, on making the post-quantum transition work for every country and not only the wealthy ones.
